Department of oligomers and synthetic rubbers

Head of Department Ph.D. Grishchenko V.K.

He was born in 1937 in Dnipropetrovsk. He graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk metallurgical institute in 1960 on speciality "Chemical technology of fuel". Ph.D. thesis: "Oligomers with end hydroxyl groups and elastomers based on them" (IMC, Kyiv, 1972). Author of 200 publications, 2 reviews, 1 monograph. He also has 15 copyright certificates of USSR, 3 patents of Ukraine and 1 patent of Russian Federation. Laureate of the State prize of Ukraine (1996) and Kiprianov prize of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He is a member of the Technological academy of Ukraine. He is awarded the honored title "Inventor of USSR". He has been working in Department from the day of foundation in 1965. Head of Department since 1977.

Basic directions of scientific activity:

• Radical polymerization of diene with the purpose of obtaining of oligomers with end functional groups with the use of azoinitiators and hydrogen peroxide
• Synthesis of elastomers from oligodienes and obtaining materials on their base
• Modification of end groups and double bonds in oligomers
• Photochemistry of reactive oligomers
• Use of vegetable raw material for modification of oligomers and curing modified products
• Preparing oligomeric and polymeric azoinitiators and block-copolymers on their base including silicon blocks
• Investigation of mechanisms of curing oligodienedihydrazides and oligodienedihydrazons epoxides and diisocyanates
• Modification of rubbers with reactive oligomers
