     Born in 1936, Strabichevo, Mukachevo region, Zakarpatean area of Ukraine. Graduated from the Uzhorod National University, Chemistry department, specialization – chemistry (1958). Post-graduate of the polymer department, Institute of plants physiology the NAS of Ukraine (1960-63). PhD in chemistry (Cand. of Sci.) 1963. From 1963 to present time – collaborator of the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry (IMC) of the NAS (National Academy of Sciences) of Ukraine: junior researcher (1963-1966), senior researcher (1971-75), head of the laboratory (1971-75), head of the department (from 1975). Doct. of Sci. thesis’ title: “Structure and properties of polyurethanes influenced by a disperse fillers” (IMC, Kiev, 1973), Deputy Director of the IMC the NAS of Ukraine (1978), Professor (1981), Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine (1990).

    Author and co-author of more than 400 scientific papers and publications, including 4 books. Has 20 inventions for patents. Awarded by prize of L.V. Pisarzhevky (1987) and A.I. Kiprianov (1996) of the NAS of Ukraine. Honoured worker of Science and Technique of Ukraine. Rewarded  with order the “Druzbi narodov”. Academician of the Technology Academy of Ukraine. Vice-chairman of IMC scientific council, Chemical Society of Ukraine, vice editor-in-chief of the “Polymer Journal” (Ukraine), etc.

 

The main areas of scientific activity:

  • Physico-chemistry and modification of polyurethanes, composites and a polymer matrixes;
  • Structure and chemical modification of polymers and elastomers.
