In 1971 laboratory of physico-chemical
properties of polyurethanes (chief - PhD in chemistry Yu.Yu.
Kercha) was
separated from the department of physico-chemistry of
polymers (head - Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Yu.S.
Lipatov). In 1975 on the base of the above laboratory a
department of physico-chemistry of thermoplastic
polymers was originated, then renamed into Polymer
modification department, since headed by the Corresponding Member of the NAS of
Ukraine, Professor Yu. Yu. Kercha.
Department includes 2 Doctor of Sciences and 15
Candidates of Sciences (PhD).
Results of investigations published in 4 monographs and
books, and more than 600 scientific papers; department has awards after L.V. Pisarzhevsky (1987), A.I. Kiprianov
(1996) and young scientists (2005) of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of
Ukraine. More than 100 inventions were patented.
