The main achievements of the department

   Fundamental and theoretical aspects elaborated:

            Scientific principles for structural and chemical modification of urethane and hydrocarbon elastomers, based on applying of reactive and functional oligomers and their systems.

    Basic criterion for regulation of a segmented polyurethanes’ properties by targeted changing of their microphase segregation level by chemical and physical methods, allowing to form a microheterogeneous hybrid polymer materials and functional composites.

    Decreasing of a strength properties of metals in the presence of mechanically-destructed polymers and peculiarities of hetero-phase mechanical destruction of polymers and metals dispersion.


Current scientific tasks and directions:

    The current research activity is focused on the following tasks:

1.    adsorbents for removal of a heavy metal ions and hazardous substances from waste waters and industrial effluents;

2.    Development and formation of chemo-sensor systems, sensitive nanolayers based on polymer matrixes and macrocycles (cyclodextrins, calixarenes);

3.    Polymer drug-release systems for medical application;

4.    Ecologically friendly liquid lubricants and fluids based on a natural ingredients;

5.    Biogegradable polymer materials;

6.    UV-curable glues, coatings for the targeted industrial applications, oligomer activators and compositions for UV-curable systems.
